Coding-decoding questions turn a word into a code using a fixed rule, and you must find that rule from an example. Most rules are letter shifts, reverse-alphabet pairs or letter-position sums, so knowing letter positions quickly saves the most time. Reach for it whenever one word is shown with its code and you must code another. For sentence codes, compare two sentences at a time instead of trying to read one code in isolation.
