A 1:1 mock interview is a live, real-time interview session conducted by an experienced software engineer. You get a dedicated 60-minute session where the interviewer asks questions, probes your thinking, challenges your assumptions, and gives nuanced, human feedback that no automated system can replicate. Each session includes live problem-solving, discussion of your approach, and detailed post-interview feedback.

Booking & Eligibility

To book a 1:1 mock interview, you must achieve: DSA score of at least 1000 and LLD score of at least 700. This ensures you're interview-ready before booking expert time. You can maintain up to 2 active mock interview bookings at a time. To reach the threshold, practice DSA and LLD mock interviews on InstaMock. Once eligible, browse available interviewers, check their availability, and request a slot that works for your schedule.

Interview Types Available

1:1 mock interviews are available for System Design (HLD), Low Level Design (LLD), and Coding/DSA rounds. Each session is tailored to your target company and role level (L3-L7 at Google, SDE1-Senior at Amazon, etc.). Interviewers adjust difficulty and focus based on your career stage.

What to Expect

After booking approval, you receive a video meeting link. Join 5 minutes early. The interviewer will introduce the problem, you have time to think, and then you solve it live. They may ask follow-up questions or request optimizations. After 50 minutes of problem-solving, you get 10 minutes of feedback: what went well, what to improve, and how you compare to candidates they've interviewed.
