CI/CD
Build, test and deploy every change automatically, and roll back safely.
About CI/CD
CI/CD stands for continuous integration and continuous delivery or deployment. Every change is automatically built and tested when it is pushed (CI), then released to an environment through a repeatable pipeline (CD).
Tools like GitHub Actions, GitLab CI and Jenkins run these pipelines.
Why it matters for placements
Building and maintaining pipelines is a core part of a DevOps job. Interviewers ask you to design a pipeline and explain deployment strategies and rollbacks.
What you'll learn
4 topics · 14 lessons, each with practice
- Explain the stages of a CI/CD pipeline and why each exists
- Write a GitHub Actions workflow that builds and tests code
- Manage artifacts, environments and secrets in pipelines
- Choose between rolling, blue-green and canary deployments
- Roll back a bad release safely

CI/CD Concepts
Not startedWithout automation, broken code is found days later and every release is a risky manual event. CI/CD turns build, test and deploy into a repeatable pipeline that runs on every change. Almost every company you join will have one, and interviewers expect you to explain it.
Interview Ready Interview Ready
Take Interview Ready testRecommended. Enough for technical rounds at good product companies.
GitHub Actions
Not startedGitHub Actions is the CI/CD tool built into GitHub, so it is often the first pipeline a fresher writes or debugs. Knowing how workflows, jobs and steps fit together lets you read any .github/workflows file and fix a failing check on your own pull request.
Deployment Strategies
Not startedShipping a new version to live users is the riskiest moment in a release. Deployment strategies decide how traffic moves from the old version to the new one, how much downtime there is, and how fast you can undo a mistake. System design and DevOps interviews ask about them often.
Advanced Advanced
Take Advanced testOptional. For top product companies. Never counted against your readiness.
Pipeline Security
Not startedA pipeline holds the keys to production, so an attacker who controls it controls what users run. Protecting secrets, dependencies and the artifacts themselves is now a standard part of DevSecOps work and a common senior interview theme.
