Most real filters have more than one condition, like employees in Pune who earn over 60000. AND, OR and NOT combine conditions into one. Use parentheses whenever you mix AND with OR, because AND binds tighter and the query can silently return the wrong rows. If you are checking one column against many values with OR, IN is shorter and easier to read.
