After filtering and mapping, you usually want a result: a list, a joined string, or counts per group. Collectors gives ready-made recipes like toList, joining and groupingBy, so a "count students per branch" task becomes one line. Use groupingBy whenever you would otherwise build a Map of lists by hand. Watch out for toMap, which throws on duplicate keys unless you give a merge function.
