Creating a new thread for every task is expensive, and thousands of them can exhaust memory. An ExecutorService reuses a fixed pool of threads and queues the extra tasks. Use it whenever you run many independent jobs, like sending emails or processing uploaded files. Always shut the pool down when done, or your program may never exit.
