Real tables collect duplicate rows, like the same email signed up twice, and someone has to find and clean them. Finding them uses GROUP BY with HAVING COUNT(*) > 1, and deleting all but one usually keeps the smallest id per group. Use this whenever you need to check or enforce uniqueness after the fact. A UNIQUE constraint is the long-term fix, so duplicates cannot enter again.
