Single commands do one small job, and real questions like "which errors happened today" need several of them chained. Pipes pass one command's output to the next, and redirection sends output or errors to files. Use them to save a deploy log, silence noise with /dev/null or build a quick log report. Remember that only stdout goes through a pipe; errors need 2>&1, and its position on the line matters.
