A big interface forces every class that implements it to carry methods it never uses, often as empty bodies or "not supported" exceptions. ISP says to split interfaces by what each caller actually needs. Reach for it when a simple printer has to implement fax() and scan() just to compile. It is easy to mix up with SRP: SRP looks at a class's reasons to change, ISP looks at an interface from the caller's side.
